Today I signed the contract on a new 11kW PV (Photo Voltaic) system for the palatial Lombana Estate. In the coming weeks work will begin on engineering designs, permitting all leading up to the system installation and eventually solar generation, just in time for the summer peak energy consumption season!

As progress occurs I’ll post it all here!

I’m really looking forward to living off the grid and lowering my electric bills from the current average of almost $ 280 dollars per month (nearly $ 450 per month in the summer)! I’m told that in peak summer daylight I should see the meter spinning backwards, however APS (my power utility) doesn’t allow customers to sell excess power back to them, shame.

The biggest plus in this system is that I’ll be saving the planet, and this is important to me. Over the next few years I should save almost 380k pounds of CO2 from hitting the global climate, and this is good!
